Mabis 04-255-001 Dot Matrix Digital Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor
Just like most blood pressure monitor, the Mabis 04-255-001 Dot Matrix Digital Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor is a one-touch device. It inflates at a push of a button and if not deflated manually, the device would automatically shut down in 30 seconds.
Mabis 04-255-001 features a large and easy-to-read dot matrix digital display that shows systolic and diastolic rate simultaneously with pulse rate.
Once the cuff is strapped on your wrist, it will automatically inflate by pushing the power button of the monitor. It will automatically deflate when the measurement is completed.
Another thing that makes this digital blood pressure monitor ahead of its counterparts is its comprehensive menu button that lets you select from six features. First is the Memory Select which is used to switch from two memory banks; next is the Preset Pressure which is used to adjust the pressure of the cuff; the third one is the Memory Clear which is used to delete all stored readings; and the other three are Language, Clock Set, and Contrast (adjust display setting).
There is another button found on the screen which allows you to scroll up and down stored readings and check their averages. You can view these readings either as a chronological list or as a graph.
At first, I was a bit confused with so many options. What helped me is the detailed instruction booklet that comes with the package. The booklet has taught me everything I needed to know about operating a blood pressure monitor. It consists of a Get Started sheet, a Frequently Asked Question pamphlet and the main instruction booklet that comes in four languages.
As I further used the blood pressure monitor, I gradually realized how such features made it really convenient to use. Simultaneously reading blood pressure and pulse rate, for one, is hitting to birds with one stone. My doctor even thanked me for deciding to drop my old fashioned sphygmomanometer for the Mabis 0-255-001.
The fact that it can store two sets of memory with 30 readings for each is a time saver. All readings have date and time stamped which means that you no longer need to create a spreadsheet in order to monitor the fluctuation of your blood pressure, if there is any. Because of that, using this blood pressure monitor turns out to be very helpful for your doctor as he is able to track both your blood pressure and pulse trends over a period of, at most, one month.
